Before applying any coating to your decking make sure it is free of any dirt/grease that will stop the coating sinking in and binding to the wood, its always advised to cleaning your decking with a decking cleaner to give you best results, if your decking is greying you will also want to revive it to bring back as much of the wood natural colour before coating.
